Vyhlášení osmého kola soutěže o Cenu GSGM pro období 2024–2026
Osmé kolo soutěže vyhlašuje výbor Genetické společnosti Gregora Mendela, z.s. (GSGM) na roky 2024–2026. Cena bude udělena na konferenci GSGM, která se bude konat v Kostelci nad Černými lesy v květnu 2027.
Statut Ceny GSGM
- Cena je vypisována za významný přínos v oblasti genetiky a/nebo molekulární biologie v rámci České nebo Slovenské republiky a je sponzorována firmou M.G.P., s.r.o., Zlín.
- Cenu ve výši 2000 EUR může získat osoba ve věku do 35 let (v době uzávěrky soutěže), přičemž podmínkou je afiliace žadatele k některému vědeckému pracovišti v České nebo Slovenské republice. Žadatel NEMUSÍ být členem GSGM. Cena se uděluje za vědeckou práci nebo soubor prací publikovaných (nebo „in press“) v posledních třech letech před podáním přihlášky do soutěžního kola (období 1. 1. 2024 – 31. 12. 2026).

Přihláška do soutěže se podává na příslušném formuláři, který je předkladatelům k dispozici na internetových stránkách společnosti.
Společně s přihláškou musí být předloženo:
- Jednostránková anotace práce
- Seznam publikací přihlašovaných k ocenění, včetně IF a AIS v roce vydání (nebo v roce předchozím, není-li pro daný rok ještě k dispozici), počtu citací (včetně autocitací) podle Web of Science, popisu konkrétního příspěvku předkladatele na publikovaných vědeckých výsledcích a zda byl korespondujícím autorem.
- Všechny publikace přihlašované k ocenění ve formátu pdf (pokud jejich velikost přesáhne limit pro odeslání emailem, je nutné tuto skutečnost zmínit v textu emailu a zbylé práce poslat např. v dalším emailu).
Soutěžící se dále zavazuje, že v případě vítězství napíše krátký příspěvek formou literárního přehledu týkajícího se tématu jeho výzkumu (ideálně se zahrnutím popisu vlastních řešených témat) do Informačních listů, které vydává Genetická společnost Gregora Mendela, z.s. (o délce příspěvku a jeho obsahu je možné se dohodnout s hlavním redaktorem IL).
- Udělení ceny není omezeno žádnými zvláštními kvalifikačními požadavky na předkladatele (kromě požadavků uvedených výše v rámci bodu 2), avšak oceněný autor nemůže být vyhlášen vítězem soutěže opakovaně. Udělení ceny zahrnuje kromě finanční odměny i povinnost autora přednést plenární přednášku na konferenci GSGM, která se bude konat v květnu 2027.
O udělení ceny rozhoduje výbor GSGM po zhodnocení přihlášek na návrh odborné posuzovatelské komise, kterou výbor GSGM k tomuto účelu ad hoc ustavuje. Výbor společnosti má právo v daném kole soutěže cenu neudělit nebo ji rozdělit mezi dva vyhodnocené předkladatele.

Announcement of the Eighth Round of the GSGM Award Competition for the 2024–2026 Period
The Executive Committee of the Gregor Mendel Society for Genetics, z.s. (GSGM) announces the eighth round of the GSGM Award competition for the 2024–2026 period. The Award will be presented at the GSGM Conference, to be held in Kostelec nad Černými lesy in May 2027.
GSGM Award Statute
- The Award is granted in recognition of an outstanding contribution to the fields of genetics and/or molecular biology within the Czech Republic or the Slovak Republic. It is sponsored by M.G.P., Ltd., Zlín.
- The Award, amounting to EUR 2,000, may be granted to an individual who is 35 years of age or younger at the application deadline. Applicants must be affiliated with a scientific institution in the Czech Republic or the Slovak Republic. Applicants are NOT REQUIRED to be members of GSGM. The Award is granted for a scientific publication or a body of work published (or accepted for publication, "in press") during the three years preceding the application deadline (between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2026).

Applications must be submitted using the official application form available on the Society's website.
The application must be accompanied by:
- A one-page summary of the submitted work.
- A list of publications submitted for evaluation, including the Impact Factor (IF) and Article Influence Score (AIS) for the year of publication (or for the preceding year if the relevant year's values are not yet available), the number of citations (including self-citations) according to the Web of Science, a description of the applicant's specific contribution to each publication, and an indication of whether the applicant served as the corresponding author.
- PDF copies of all publications submitted for evaluation. If the total file size exceeds the limit for email attachments, applicants should indicate this in the email and send the remaining files separately (e.g., in one or more additional emails).
Applicants also agree that, should they receive the Award, they will prepare a short review article related to the topic of their research (preferably including a description of their own research) for publication in the Information Bulletin issued by the GSGM. The length and content of the article may be agreed upon with the Editor-in-Chief of the Bulletin.
- Apart from the eligibility requirements specified in Section 2, there are no additional qualification requirements for applicants. However, previous recipients of the GSGM Award are not eligible to receive the Award again. In addition to the financial prize, the Award recipient is required to deliver a plenary lecture at the GSGM Conference to be held in May 2027.
The recipient of the Award is selected by the GSGM Executive Committee based on the recommendations of an ad hoc expert review committee appointed for this purpose. The Executive Committee reserves the right not to confer the Award in a given competition round or to divide it equally between two successful applicants.
